#Becky2Belts: Fans react to Becky Lynch's victory in WrestleMania 35 main event

#Becky2Belts: Fans react to Becky Lynch's victory in WrestleMania 35 main event

Becky Lynch won the Winner Take All Women's Title match in the main event of WrestleMania 35, leaving some fans overjoyed, but others disappointed after a questionable end to the match.

Lynch appeared to have both of Ronda Rousey's shoulders pinned to the mat as the referee counted the 1-2-3, but replays appeared to show Rousey lift her shoulders off the mat as the referee started his count.

The ref continued the count, regardless, awarding the pinfall and the victory to an ecstatic Lynch, whose WrestleMania win over Raw Women's Champion Rousey and SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair made her the champion of both of the WWE's women's divisions.

However, the conclusion to the match left a sour taste in the mouth of some wrestling fans online, who bemoaned the messy finish.

One fan stated: "Becky Lynch robbed Ronda Rousey. Hand went down and counted one and both shoulders we off the canvas. They botched the ending. Goodnight everyone!"

Another shared a still showing Rousey's shoulders clearly off the mat, replying to a WWE tweet announcing Lynch's victory with: "I got something to say about that."

Another fan criticized US outlet ESPN for posting a victory graphic of Becky Lynch that featured a pic of fellow WWE women's superstar Carmella.

But the overwhelming reaction to Lynch's win was one of joy, as the hugely popular Irish star was lauded online by friends and fans alike.

One fan tweeted: "There could not have been a better ending to WrestleMania. This is what Becky has worked so hard for. This is her dream. This was the ending she DESERVED."

UFC welterweight contender Michael 'Maverick' Chiesa hopped onto Twitter to pay tribute to Lynch, writing: "It feels great when you see your friends succeed. When you see them do it on the worlds biggest stage, it lights a fire. Proud of you @BeckyLynchWWE."

And Lynch's fellow Irish WWE superstar Sheamus posted his congratulations, tweeting: "Congratulations to @BeckyLynchWWE on becoming the first unified #WWEWOMENSCHAMPION Yo Becky, you did it..Again #Irishpride"

Wrestling photographer @kimberlasskick was lost for words, but tweeted anyway with a great pic of the newly-crowned double-champion, together with the catchy hashtag #becky2belts.

And another big Becky fan declared 'The Man' as "The perfect woman."
