Staged chemical weapons attacks in Syria, protecting Assange, & efforts to clean the ocean
This week on Redacted Tonight, Lee sits down to interview three journalists from RT America. The show starts off with a conversation with news correspondent and documentarian Dan Cohen. Among many topics, Cohen and Lee discuss the recent report from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, which found that chemical weapons attacks on Syrian civilians that were blamed on the Damascus government had been staged. The independent journalism community had long-suspected that this was the case, but the report provided solid evidence for their skepticism.
In the second half of the show, Lee talks with the hosts of ‘Watching the Hawks,’ Tyrel Ventura and Tabetha Wallace. They cover the push for war with Iran, an effort to clean the ocean, and the threat to journalism posed by the persecution of Julian Assange.
