Meanwhile, the US outspends Russia by a factor of ten on its military. The US military budget is more than the next nine countries combined. Russian and US military aircraft flew within five feet of one another high above the international waters of the Eastern Mediterranean. Several such interactions occurred over the weekend. Another incident occurred over Syria, according to anonymous officials, while another tense US-Russian encounter happened in the Pacific.
