Scotland’s forgotten football hero

In the first of two special programs for Black History Month, the Alex Salmond Show tells the extraordinary story of Andrew Watson, the world’s first black international footballer. As captain of Scotland in March 1881, he led his side to London for a 6-1 drubbing of England, which remains the heaviest home defeat in the history of the Three Lions. Alex talks to founder of the Scottish Football Museum, Ged O’Brien, and England great John Barnes about the life of a footballer as influential in the development of the game in the 19th century as Pele was to the 20th.
