Olympic champion Nemov on Games of the Future: Never seen anything like this in the world

Four-time Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics Alexei Nemov has shared his opinion on Games of the Future in Kazan.

“My kids are all about gaming consoles. I spend more time on my phone. But back in the day, I played various consoles. Different adventures, Mortal Kombat, Call of Duty.

I’ve never seen anything like this in the world. The format is a bit unclear to me. It’s not clear how electronic and physical versions combine. But the people who came here will be satisfied. The organisation here is excellent. Prizes for the participants are good as well. Everyone will leave with good impressions,” said Nemov.

He also mentioned that he would visit phygital disciplines such as artistic gymnastics, diving, and figure skating.

“There was a risk that some might be banned from coming to Russia, but it’s great that we had 107 countries participating. It’s great that some presidents at the opening ceremony addressed the athletes in their native languages and offered to host the next Games of the Future in their countries. This says a lot. It shows that we are ready for dialogue and friendship,” he noted.
