Arctic convoy veteran Ernie Davies is waiting for your letters

He doesn't consider himself a war hero. As soon as he turned 18, Ernie Davies signed up for the Royal Navy. “Almost all of my friends went to war – I simply had to do my part,” he says. He served on an Arctic convoy ship that braved German air raids to deliver the much needed military equipment and food supplies to the USSR. It was then that he came to Russia for the first time, and the only thing he regrets now is not having learned the language.

We believe Ernie is a hero, and if you think so too, please write him a letter – he'll be glad to get it.

Please send your letters to RTTV UK, Millbank Tower, 21-24 Millbank, SW1P 4QP, marked ‘To Ernie Davies' or via email [email protected]
